Announcement    Hello and Welcome to the Shop of Silver Nest Studio where you can view and purchase Textile Artwork and Handcrafted Home Furnishings Designed and Created by me!...Cynthia Margaret Bye.
I have spent most of my life enjoying textiles and anything having to do with textile design and fiber arts! My ever-changing and evolving journey started as a curious kid with 4-H Club in Wisconsin, which led to studies in fiber arts, costume design, and interior design (after pre-med at Purdue, but that's another story!), and led to working experiences in wardrobe design in Los Angeles and in Aspen, working experiences in interior design in L.A., New York, Aspen & Vail, and, more recently has led me back to the mid-west for awhile where I have been working (if you can call it that) as a Fiber Artist and Home Textile Designer in Wisconsin and the Chicago area.
I love to design and create textural tapestries and unique home accessories by combining a variety of leather, woven fibers, hand made trims and luxurious fabrics along with innovative and advanced needle-art techniques.

As a morphing textile artist, creative person with a heart, hopeful survivor, and as a descendant of a "Rosie Riveter" I have recently been focusing most of my efforts on making cloth face-masks. I am not the fastest mask maker in the west (I mean mid-west), but I have made and given away over a hundred masks thus-far to health care workers and many to high-risk citizens, and now I am selling them in my shop in order to supply materials to make more masks for health care workers and for my wonderful customers! Which means that at this point, 100% of the profits have already gone to charitable non-profits and other medical and essential workers. :-)
Also, If you look around my shop and are excited about my handcrafted unique home furnishings and would like to purchase something or have something made, I am most happy to accommodate in that area as well! Creative collaboration is always welcome at Silver Nest Studio!
